Purpose

The purpose of the Vancouver Guild of Embroiderers, a non-profit organization, is to encourage and promote the practice and knowledge of the art of embroidery in all its forms. This organization provides monthly meetings, chapter newsletters, workshops, a lending library within the Guild and membership in the national organization. The Embroiderers’ Association of Canada, Inc. EAC, founded in 1973, is the parent organization of the Vancouver Guild of Embroiderers. As a member of VGE one automatically becomes a member of EAC which entitles the member to use EAC’s book, slide and video libraries, to take individual and group correspondence courses in embroidery techniques from basic to advanced levels, to attend workshops, seminars and exhibitions, to take part in award competitions, and to four issues yearly of Embroidery Canada magazine
